More than 37,000 front-line health workers and security personnel received the COVID-19 vaccine in different parts of the country by yesterday (30), the Epidemiology Unit said.
On Saturday 32,539 persons received the vaccine while on Friday 5,286 received the vaccine there by raising the total who received the vaccines to 37,825.
Meanwhile a spokesman for the State Ministry for Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals said that by next Month they were expecting 300,000 vaccines from China .
He said discussions are on with Russia as well to obtain vaccines and about 250,000 vaccines are expected.
The government is also expecting 20 per cent of the vaccines under the WHO programme.
The vaccination programmes throughout the country are due to continue in the next few days.
