Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena arrived at Kunming International Airport this morning (August 15).
He was received by the Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yunnan Provincial Committee Zhao Jin, Protocol Chief and other senior officials and Charge D’ Affairs at Sri Lanka Embassy K.K. Yoganadan and other related officials.
PM Gunawardena is on a four-day official visit in China where he will be the Chief Guest at the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th China Kunming Import and Export Exhibition hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Yunnan Provincial Government which will be held from August 16-20 in Kunming, China with the theme ‘Solidarity and Coordination for Common Development’.
Accordingly, 60 countries will participate in the Expo inclusive of South and Southeast Asian countries and RECP member states.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a delegation that includes State Ministers Tharaka Balasuriya, Janaka Wakkumbura and Kanaka Herath, MP Yadamini Gunawardena along with Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake.
