The Government and Opposition observed a minute of silence at the request of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today in commemoration of those whose lives were lost in the terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday (21).
After making a special statement at the commencement of Parliament on the Easter Sunday terrorist attack, the Prime Minister then requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to permit a minutes' silence in memory of the victims.
Accordingly, all Ministers and Members of Parliament in the House took action to maintain a minute of silence.
