An extraordinary gazette has been issued again declaring petroleum, electricity, and health services as essential services.
The gazette notice signed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday (17) stated that all services connected to the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, and all services in connection with the maintenance, care feeding, and treatment of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and dispensaries are declared as essential services.
The gazette issued under the Essential Public Services will be for public corporations, government departments, local authorities and co-operative societies engaged in the above essential services.
