The Wages Board is due to be convened on Monday to discuss the salary increase for plantation workers, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said today.
He made the statement addressing the Kandy District Plantation Labour Unions and Youth Leaders meeting.
The decision on the 1,700-rupee Salary Increase for plantation workers is expected to be reached next Monday.
The President also announced that workers' welfare funds, which have been neglected for many years, will be paid starting next year.
