The National Police Commission has issued immediate transfers for 54 senior police officers, including 5 Deputy Inspectors General of Police.
Also, 35 Senior Superintendents of Police, 7 Superintendents of Police, and 7 Assistant Superintendents of Police have been transferred.
These 54 officers also include 4 Senior Women Police officers.
The Police Headquarters announced that one of the Senior Women Superintendents of Police, H.W.I.S. Muthumala, who previously held the position of Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, has been appointed as the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department.
Another Senior Women Superintendent of Police, H.M.L.R. Amarasena, has been transferred from the Police Headquarters to the Special Investigation Unit as its Director.
Senior Women Superintendent of Police R.A.D. Kumari, who was the Deputy Director of the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department, has been transferred to the position of Commanding Officer at the Field Force Headquarters.
Meanwhile, the fourth Senior Women Superintendent of Police, P.J.M. Ariyasena, who served as the Director of the Police Secretariat Division, has been transferred to the position of Director of the Medical Services Division.
Senior Police Officer E.M.M.S. Dehideniya, who previously served as the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, has been transferred to the position of Officer in Charge of the Nugegoda Division.
SSP K.B. Manathunga has been appointed as the Director of Police Media and Police Spokesman, while former Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa will continue in his capacity as DIG of the Crimes Range.
