Police have obtained an overseas travel ban against activist Pathum Kerner, who they said had so far failed to respond a summons to give a statement over the violent incidents that took place near Parliament on July 13.
A senior police officer told Times Online that Kerner had so far not responded to a summon issued to give a statement and there is information that he is attempting to leave the country.
One suspect wanted in connection with the violence that took place near Parliament has already left the country.
Both the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) are currently investigating the incidents from July 9 to July 13 where protesters stormed and occupied President's House, Presidential Secretariat, Temple Trees, Prime Minister's Office, set fire to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's private residence and clashed with police and armed forces personnel at Polduwa Junction near Parliament
At least 30 suspects have so far been identified in connection with all these incidents through CCTV and video footage, the officer further said. Investigations to arrest them are ongoing.
