Police today reported to the Colombo Magistrate courts that an investigation was underway about a complaint by a female teacher from a suburb of Colombo that she had been drugged and sexually abused by a male teacher from the same school after being taken to two night clubs and later to a hotel room.
This follows a complaint by the 25 year old teacher to the Cinnamon Gardens Police after she was reportedly abused in a hotel in the area following a visit to two of the night clubs – one at Mt Lavinia.
She has accused a 35 year old male teacher from the same school.
Police informed the courts that she had stayed at the hotel overnight returned home on the following day and lodged the complaint later.
A statement from the male teacher too has been recorded and denied the allegation of sexual abuse and claimed that he had booked the room and stayed with her for her own security.
