Police to commence fresh operations to nab drug peddlers
Police said that they are to commence a fresh round of operations to nab drug peddlers as well as underworld gang leaders with immediate effect in the wake of a rise of criminal acitivities.
A senior officer said the police and Special Task Force officials would be deployed to carry out operations,
They said that they are carrying out the move to reduce drug distribution activities as well as to find the culprits who are responsible over the several shooting incidents.
At least 23 persons have been killed in the last two months .
The lack of fuel for the police and them being compelled to oversee law and order at filling stations are among factors contributing to a new wave of criminal activities, in the recent months.
