Police identified and warned 125 vehicle owners yesterday (22) over traffic violations identified through the pilot project to trace such violations using the CCTV system established within the Colombo city limits.
Police Headquarters said the drivers of the vehicles were identified and warned as an initial measure.
It added that most of the identified traffic violations were in relation to illegally changing lanes and continuing past stop lines.
The pilot project to identify traffic violations via the city's CCTV system commenced yesterday. Fine sheets are to be sent to addresses of the registered owners of the vehicle identified as having committed the traffic violation.
