Polling in the Local Government elections has closed with an average turnout of more than 50 per cent.
The turnout could be higher as the final figures come in, an election official said.
The polling was concluded without any major incidents at polling booths, though there were a string of complaints of incidents that took place outside the booths.
The most common complaint was canvassing near polling booths and dropping of notifications of the party symbol near the booths.
Some of the districts had a good turnout above 60 per cent, but were still lower than the figures recorded at the Parliamentary elections.
