An Indian based popular preacher detained at the Palaly airport after allegations that he was going to misuse his visa by conducting preaching programmes has been directed to call off his scheduled programme.
Preacher Paul Dhinakaran arrived at the Bandranaike International Airport in Katunayake and had flown to Palaly ahead of the preaching programmes scheduled to be held in Jaffna on Saturday.
However the preacher had been told that he would not be able to carryout preaching programmes with the visa issued to him.
After being held at the airport he was allowed to leave to a hotel in Jaffna from where he has been told to return to Colombo on Friday.
A local Non Governmental Organisation had lodged a complaint with the Police as well claiming that he was trying to unethically convert persons to his faith.
