Ceylon Electricity Board’s request to continue its scheduled power cuts on Thursday (24) has been approved by the Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL).
Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Janaka Ratnayake said a four hour and 40-minute power cut will be imposed to those in category A, B, C areas while other areas will experience a four-hour 30-minute power cut tomorrow.

The Ministry of Energy said out of the 37,500 metric tons of diesel released today following the payment of 35.3 million US dollars, 6000 metric tons will be immediately purchased by CEB for power generation.
