A property bank is to be established to identify and develop all lands, commercial lands and buildings belonging to the Urban Development Authority.
Urban Development Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has requested officials to obtain information of all UDA lands island-wide. About 1008 acres of land and buildings are presently coming under the UDA.
The Minister said the purpose is to identify lands that have not been utilised and to take maximum use of state lands. He said some UDA land has been encroached and some abandoned.
Minister Ranatunga said plans are ahead to go for public-private sector partnership to develop UDA lands.
