President Ranil Wickremesinghe meets President of the Philippines Ferdinand R. Marcos in Manila today.
President Wickremesinghe was welcomed upon arrival by the President Marcos at the Malacanang Palace.
President Wickremesinghe said that the long-standing friendship between the two nations would be promoted by developing Asian regional cooperation.
The two leaders commenced their bilateral discussions which was followed by their friendly conversations.
Greater emphasis was placed during the discussion on further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Philippines through new approaches.
Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwardena and other officials from the Sri Lankan delegation were present on this occasion.
