Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates will sign an agreement on strengthening trade and security ties during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s visit to the UAE.
Cabinet approved a proposal by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijith Herath to sign the agreement during the President’s ongoing visit to the UAE to attend the 2025 World Governments Summit.
The agreement is aimed at attracting direct foreign investment from the United Arab Emirates to Sri Lanka as well as strengthening bilateral relations between both countries in the fields of investment,trade and security.
The clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the proposed agreement.
