Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa to clarified the position regarding Security staff attached to the President's Security Division (PSD).
He said PSD members have been reassigned to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
However the security required for former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been retained, he said.
Meanwhile more than 300 police men and women earlier attached to the PSD have been transferred to police stations across the country.
