A Cabinet proposal to reduce prices of pharmaceuticals by 16 per cent with effect from June 15 has been approved, Minister Bandula Gunasekara said.
A three month price review mechanism was also proposed in the same cabinet paper.
The Cabinet paper was submitted taking into consideration the appreciation of the rupee against the US dollar and benefit importers would receive.

The Colombo International Book fair which is deemed as the largest book exhibition in Sri Lanka commenced yesterday, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference hall (BMICH).
