The Professional Trade Union Alliance is to hold a meeting next Monday to decide on further trade union action.
This is in the wake of the Government providing no solution to the demands of the Alliance and with no meeting arranged with President Ranil Wickremesinghe though they were promised of a meeting.
The President had sent a letter to the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) and promised declaration of a date for a discussion on or before March 22.
However, with no response from the Government, the Professional Trade Union Alliance held a meeting today (March 24) and the GMOA had sent a letter to the Presidential Secretariat Office.
The Professional Trade Union Alliance had decided to hold a meeting next Monday to decide on further increased trade action.
“If the Government is attempting to escape or ignore providing a solution, we will go for further actions”, Chamil Wijesinghe, the Spokesman of the GMOA commented to the Sunday Times.
