Peter Breuer, the Senior Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has noted that a property taxes will enable Sri Lanka to make the necessary progress toward fulfilling the objectives of the IMF program.
He also noted that while the country’s macro economy is steadily stabilizing, the country’s economic recovery process is still what he called the ‘infancy level’ and has not yet reached the wider public.
A group of IMF officials visited the country on January 11 and spent a week in discussions and study of the country’s economic reforms.
Before ending their visit to Sri Lanka Mr. Breuer and his delegation addressed a press conference.
