The Colombo District Judge today imposed an order restraining a Youtube channel and a Facebook page publishing videos and making inferences on a private company with business woman Thilini Priyamali who is accused of embezzling millions of rupees.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief District Judge Purnima Paranagama after considering an application by Copreus Private Ltd, that operates from the World Trade Centre in Colombo.
The order was issued against R.A.M.P. Rathnayake and Dananjaya Naranbadda, owners and operators of the YouTube Channel ‘Life Traveler’ and the Fb page.
The order will be effective until November 14.
The company, Copreus Ltd., said it was a subsidiary of a global conglomerate operating under the same name and was not a financial institution involved in collecting money.
The company claims that they had no connection with the company run by Priyamali now in custody and therefore sought an order to prevent the youtube and FB page publishing material linking the two.
