Sri Lanka Railways would resume services to Thalaimannar on Tuesday November 12 after a lapse of one year.
According to the General Manager of Railways S.S Mudalige the first train would depart from Colombo Fort to Thalimannar at 4.15 pm.
According to the train schedule the train is to reach Anuradhapura at 7.35 pm and reach Thalaimannar Pier around 9.50 pm. The train would return to Colombo on following day (November 13) early morning. The train would commence the return journey from Thalaimannar 4.15am and reach Anuradhapura at 7.15 am and reach Fort Railway station 10.15 am
The Thalaimannar line was closed for nearly a year due to the northern railway line re-construction.
The resumption of railway services to Thalaimannar would benefit the state officials on election duty, he said.
