The Meteorological Department has warned of evening thundershowers in most parts of the island posing a threat to May day events later in the day.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over most parts of the island after 2.00pm, the Department said.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Southern provinces.
However, showers or thundershowers may also occur in Western and Southern provinces during the morning too.
