Showers or thundershowers are most likely to come to pass in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces and in Polonnaruwa district, says the Department of Meteorology.
Fairly heavy showers of about 50mm would occur at a few places elsewhere during the day or night.
General public is advised to take adequate preventative measures to ensure safety of themselves from damages within reach triggered by strong gusts and lightning during thundershowers.
Showers or thundershowers will crop up at a few places in the marine area around the island.
Winds will be either south-easterly or inconstant in direction and may strike at 20-30 KMPH.
The maritime zones around the island will remain moderate although temporary strong and very turbulent waters may turn up during thundershowers transiently.
