A couple operating a ransom racket from jail has been busted by Tangalle police.
A woman had demanded a ransom of one million rupees claiming that if the money was not received she would murder the person.
The Tangalle Police had obtained a court order and secured details of the bank accounts and found that the account belonged to a woman currently in prison over a narcotics offence while her husband is also imprisoned.
Their 20 year old daughter operating the account via an ATM card has also been arrested.
