The pandemic relief period provided to pay fines for expired traffic fine receipts at post/sub post offices will end today( 15), Post Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne said.
He said offences committed on or after January 15 will get a 14 period to pay without an additional fine and 28 days with an additional fine. Traffic fine receipts received after 28 days will not be accepted by post/sub post offices.
However, on the request of the Police Department, fine receipts issued by the City Traffic Police and Police emergency unit will get an extended relief period till February 8 this year, the Post Master General said.
