The body of the recently deceased businessman Dinesh Schaffter was exhumed today under judicial supervision at the Borella cemetery following a Court order.
Earlier a five-member committee consisting of medical experts was appointed to investigate the cause of the death of the businessman. The Committee made a request to the Colombo Magistrate Court that they need to exhume the body to carry out their investigations.
Security around the cemetery premises was stepped up as the family members of the deceased too were present while the exhumation was carried out.
The fifty two year old late Schaffter was found tied to the driving seat of his car at Borrella Cemetery on December 15, last year. He was pronounced dead shortly after he was hospitalized by the onlookers. (By Indika Handuwala)
