An unidentified group has set fire to the residence of the suspect arrested in the killing of a three-and-a-half year old child in Ukuwela, Matale.
The group had also torched a motorbike and a three-wheeler that were parked at the residence.
The child was killed when the suspect attacked him and other members of his family with a sword over a personal dispute. The victim's mother (38), sister (19) and brother (10) were also injured and hospitalised following the attack.
The suspect had fled the area following the attack but police were able to arrest him while in hiding in Ukuwela. Matale police are investigating.
