Residents and commutes have called for a safety barrier following the train-car collision that occurred at the Enderamulla rail crossing this morning leaving two dead.
The crash was reportedly a result of the driver’s carelessness as the bell and light system was working at the time the incident occurred.
However, residents said that the accident was not a first as there is no safety barrier in place, highlighting the safety hazard faced by the public.
The deceased were identified as a 54-year-old male (driver) residing in Biyagama and a 34-year-old female from Colombo.
