The government has lifted the restrictions on vehicle imports under several categories through a gcazette notification, effective from today, February 1, 2025.
As the Finance Minister, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake signed the Extraordinary Gazette yesterday (31st), granting approval under several categories.
Accordingly, cars and vans for personal use, buses for public and passenger transport and trishaws and bicycles are among the vehicles can be imported.
