Six newborn lion cubs at Ridiyagama Safari Park in Hambantota were officially named on February 12. The names were selected from approximately 4,000 public suggestions.
The single male cub was named Megha, while the five female cubs were named Tara, Agra, Bhumi, Akira, and Elsa.
The announcement was made during an exhibition attended by Department of National Zoological Gardens Director General Chandana Rajapaksa.
