Two men were arrested and telecommunication equipment worth Rs.8 million were confiscated while attempting to bring into the country, Police said.
The two suspects, residents of Dehiwala and Hakmana, were arrested over a tip off by police officers attached to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Tuesday (12) evening.
Among the confiscated goods were 47 mobile phones, 22 bottles of foreign liquor, 17 laptops, eight CCTV equipment and mobile phone spare parts.
Both the Airport Police and Customs have commenced a joint investigation.
