SC quashes presidential pardon for Royal Park murder convict The Supreme Court today quashed the order to grant a Presidential pardon by former President Maithripala Sirisena to Royal Park murder convict Jude Jayamaha.
The court held that the pardon granted contravenes provisions under the Constitution.
The SC also ordered that keeping with the judgement authorities to take necessary steps to implement the sentence imposed on Jayamaha.
Jayamaha earlier had left the country.
