The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) chief organiser for the Dambulla electorate U.R. Dayanandasiri, 60 passed today.
He was the former President of the Trade Association of the Dambulla Economic Centre. He was the patron of the Association at the time of the death.
Mr Dayanandasiri was receiving treatment in India and had returned to Sri Lanka. Soon after his return he was rushed to the Kandy hospital where he passed away.
He was popular as a social worker.
The cremation takes place in Dambulla tomorrow (June 20).
