The Embassy of Sri Lanka to Lebanon and Syria donated Nebulizers, Infrared Forehead Thermometers, Sanitizer Nano Spray Guns, metal furniture Mattresses and alternative mosquito netting to the newly established 300 beds Intermediate COVID -19 treatment center attached to District Hospital, Dompe.
This request was made to the Embassy of Sri Lanka by Chairperson of the National Women’s Committee of the State Ministry of Women and Child Development Shiranthi Beatrice Dissanayaka.
The donation was made possible by the personal contributions of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Lebanon Shani Calyaneratne Karunaratne, Second Secretary (Labour) T. Luxmidharan and staff, the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Syria Dr. Mhd Moussallam Al Droubi, founder of Rathnadeepa International Migrant Board Kusum Kodikara, and an entrepreneur Malkanthi Silva.
This donation was facilitated by Director General (Administration) of the Foreign Ministry H.A.S. Fernando.
Previously, the same donors provided Pulse Oximeters to the same hospital.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
