SL mission in Bahrain closely monitoring situation

The Sri Lanka Embassy in Bahrain is closely monitoring the situation and regular updates are being put in all three languages (Sinhala/ Tamil/ English) on the Embassy Social media platforms such as Facebook etc. The Embassy has, with the assistance of the SLBFE (Foreign Employment Bureau), also distributed dry rations to Sri Lankans who have taken shelter in temporary shelters.

 

The Embassy has a 24/7 operated hotline - 33530290 and Embassy officers mobile numbers/ WhatsApp are given on the Embassy platforms, according to Ms. Shanika Dissanayake, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Bahrain, responding to a query on Monday from the Sunday Times. She has provided her whatsapp number - 00973 351 06301 for any urgent queries.

 

She said Bahrain's air defence systems intercepted 61 missiles and 34 drones on Sunday. The Bahrain airspace was closed for the second successive day while a maritime facility near Mina Salman Port was hit last night and the fire was contained by Bahraini forces.

The Sri Lanka Embassy in Bahrain continues to remain open although Bahrain government authorities have informed a 70% remote work should commence from February 28.  “The Sri Lanka Embassy in Bahrain is in constant communication with Bahraini authorities and the Sri Lankan Associations in Bahrain to ensure support and assistance to Sri Lankans in Bahrain,” she said.
