Sri Lanka has made efforts to accelerate work connected to the formation of South Asia’s first Sports University, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said on August 11.
State Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Rohana Dissanayaka highlighted that plans are underway to set up the Sports University by developing the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama which will prepare the ground for opportunities for youths to carry out degrees with know-how in sports and discern both local and school level notable standouts.
“The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is doing a wide range of work to improve the sporting abilities of the youth of this country to raise them to the national and international levels,” the PMD further mentioned in a statement.
