The Sri Lanka Freedom Party's (SLFP) Executive Committee today met at Galle Face hotel in Colombo and appointed new office bearers of the party with former President Maithripala Sirisena as the Chairman of the party.
The moves came as the party prepared for a revamp of the party amidst allegations that SLPP had failed to keep to their promises as agreed upon before the last parliamentary elections.
The party claims that their members have not been considered for diplomatic postings, heads of institutions and other senior positions though it was agreed upon earlier.
The other members appointed today are :
Senior Vice Presidents; Nimal Siripala de Silva, Prof Rohana Luxuman Piyadasa and Mahinda Amaraweera.
Vice Presidents: Shan Vijayalal de Silva, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Thilanga Sumathipala, Lakshman Wasantha Perera, Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, Jeewan Kumaratunga, Faizer Musthpha, Hemal Gunasekara, Dayashritha Tissera and Ediriweera Weerawardena.
Secretary: Dayasiri Jayasekara
Treasurer : Lasantha Alagiyawanna
National Organiser : Lasantha Alagiyawanna.
Deputy Secretaries: Sarath Ekanayake, Jagath Pushpakumara, Shantha Bandara, Sarathi Dushmantha, Angajan Ramanathan, Suren Ragawan, Keerthi Undawatta and Tissa Karalliyadda.
