The Department of Excise has issued a press release today (April 27) banning the sale of alcohol on May 4 to May 6 for the Vesak celebrations.
Arrangements should be made to close the excise licensed points and excise station commanders have been advised to strictly implement the law regarding excise licensed points.
A 1000 Excise staff has been deployed for law enforcement duties during this period.
