A Sathayagraha campaign organised by Buddhist monks calling for the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Pettah, Colombo entered its second consecutive day on Friday.
The Sathayagraha which commenced yesterday is being supported by clergy from other religious groups and is expected to draw in more Buddhist monks today, the organisers said.
Intially the court ruled that the Sathayagraha could not be held in a manner disrupting traffic, but later amended the status by saying that the clergy could take part in the event.
The organisers said their intention was to continue the Sathayagraha until the President resigns.
