A 15-year-old student of a girls’ school in Kandy has been injured and hospitalized after jumping nearly 15 feet off of the first floor of a building located inside the school premises around 11.30 a.m. last morning (May 09).
She has been admitted to the Kandy Teaching Hospital immediately after suffering injuries in the incident.
The student, who is also a member of the school prefect guild, is identified as a resident of the Kalugamuwa Watta area of Katugastota.
Hospital sources reported that the child will go through a CT scan to find out injuries to the head wherefore medications will be provided.
Further investigations are underway by the Katugastota Police regarding the incident.
