All sports activities in schools have been suspended for two days in view of heat waves.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has directed all relevant schools to abstain from requiring children to participate in physically demanding outdoor activities until Friday (Mar. 1) since it is predicted that the current high temperatures will continue to rise.
Sports Day activities, sports practices, and any other planned outdoor activities are therefore requested to be postponed for the time being, the Ministry said.
According to the Ministry, school principals have been instructed to get a briefing on the topic from the provincial and zonal authorities of education.
Furthermore, school administrators are required to adhere to the health guidelines released by the Ministry of Health and Education on Monday (Feb. 26).
