A second woman has been arrested in connection with the seizure of a gold-plated T56 assault rifle at the Havelock City apartment complex yesterday.
One woman was arrested while trying to carry the assault rifle into the apartment complex yesterday and the second woman was arrested during subsequent investigations.
The two women who have been arrested in connection with the incident are aged 40 and 68 years. They are residents of Battaramulla and Colombo 06.
The two suspects are due to be produced before the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate's Court today (21). Wellawatta Police are investigating.
