Grades five, 11 and 13 in schools located in Western province will commence on March 15, Education Minister Education Minister G.L Peiris said.
Minister Peiris told the press that other grades including grade one will commence on April 19 after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year school vacation.
The Minister said the decision to re-open several grades was made on the recommendation of the Director-General of Health Services.
All schools in the country, except for Western province will re-open for the second phase of the first term on March 15.
