Police will consult the Attorney General’s Department regarding the statement made by former President Maithripala Sirisena to the CID about information available on those responsible for the Easter Sunday bombings, Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said.
He said that also that contents related to the statement made to the CID will be reported to courts.
Mr Sirisena on Monday provided a statement to the CID over five and half hours.
This was after his claim that he was aware of the persons responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks which took place in 2019.
