At least six persons were injured in clashes between two factions in the Trincomalee area over a fisheries dispute, Police said today.
Police and army have been deployed in the area following the clash.
Police said the two sides had thrown stones at each other.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
