At least six individuals have been arrested for engaging in an excavation in search of ancient artefacts at Wasthipuri area, Wankalei police said
The police said that the detection of the six suspects was made following a tip-off made to them. They elaborated that the six suspects were between the age of 18 to 65 years and were residents of Wanakalei area. The police said that they also took custody of the equipment used to carry out the excavation.
The six suspects are to be produced before Mannarama Magistrate Courts today. Wankalei Police are conducting further investigations
