Six women arrested for stoning police

News

Six women, who stoned the Police during in a raid to arrest four suspects with heroin, were arrested in Pubudupura area of Anuradhapura on Wednesday (November 16), Police said.

Upon information received, the Anuradhapura Division Crime Investigation Unit had conducted a raid of a house in Pubudupura and arrested four suspects ranging from ages 26 to 51, for possession of 14g 220 mg of heroin, while one suspect had escaped.

When the Police were preparing to take the suspects to the Police station, six female relatives of the suspects had stoned the Police and one Police officer, who was injured by the attacks was admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital.
