Social media activist Dharshana Handungoda who played an active role during the ‘Aragalaya’ campaign last year has been arrested while returning to the country from Duabi, Police said today.
Handungoda was arrested on charges of inciting people via a live Facebook coverage around May 9, last year when the Temple Trees was stormed and attacked.
The Cyber Crimes Division had previously recorded his statement on two occasions, but thereafter he had left to Dubai.
On return to the country, he was arrested last night and handed over to the Cyber Crimes Division.
