A special Party Leaders' meeting to discuss the current situation of the country will be held virtually via Zoom at 3.00pm today (11).
The meeting had been scheduled to be held in Parliament physically but Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said last night that it had been cancelled owing to safety concerns of MPs.
However, it has now been decided to hold the meeting as scheduled in a virtual setting.
Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) General Secretary and MP Jeevan Thondaman took to Twitter last night calling for the party leaders' meeting to be held virtually. He was supported by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M.A. Sumanthiran.
Parliament is due to convene on May 17.
